Audiences

Group your customers by what they actually did, and keep those groups current.

An audience is a group of customers defined by a rule rather than a list. "Bought twice in the last 90 days." "Added to cart but never checked out." "Ships to Germany and spends above average." You describe the group once, and it keeps itself up to date as people move in and out of it.

Building one

Pick a field, pick a condition, add another. Conditions combine with all, any or none, and you can nest a group inside a group to express things like "repeat buyers, but not anyone who bought in the last two weeks."

You can filter on what people bought, what they browsed, what they abandoned, where they ship, how they found you, and how recently they were active. Type a product name or SKU rather than an internal reference.

As you build, the panel beside the rule shows how many customers currently match, along with their combined spend and where they came from.

Keeping current

A saved audience refreshes on its own. Membership is recalculated on a schedule, so the size you see is the size it is now, not the size it was when you saved it. Trend appears from the second day onward, once there is a previous day to compare against.

If an audience has never had a member, it shows zero rather than a guess. Nothing on this page is estimated.

Building on other audiences

An audience can be defined in terms of another one. The common case is exclusion: "everyone who visited, except existing customers, except anyone who bought recently." Choose is in audience or is not in audience and pick the group.

Audiences that reference each other in a loop are rejected when you save, because the group would have no stable answer.

Segments

Alongside your own audiences, every store gets a lifecycle map: customers grouped by how recently, how often and how much they buy. The groups match the ones you already see in Shopify, so the numbers line up rather than competing.

The map needs at least 20 customers before it means anything, since the groups are relative to your own customer base. Below that it stays hidden rather than showing noise.

Exporting

Any audience can be exported as a CSV of its current members. Large audiences are capped, and the export tells you when it has been shortened and at what number.

Exports are recorded. Your workspace keeps a log of who exported which audience and how many rows, though never the contents.
